Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, learners should be able to:
  1. Describe typical bacteremia-related indications for transthoracic echocardiography, repeat blood cultures, cross-sectional imaging, and molecular testing.
  2. Define the appropriate duration of antimicrobial therapy for bacteremia due to enteric Gram-negative rods and Streptococcus.
  3. Develop a framework for when oral antimicrobial therapy is appropriate for enteric Gram-negative rod and Streptococcus bacteremia.
