To Stick or Not to Stick: A Guide to Ultrasound Guided Procedural Safety - On Demand 2026
Needle decisions demand more than a clear image. In this case-driven course, you’ll engage with bedside ultrasound clips, identify subtle red flags, recognize when anatomy or physiology raises procedural risk, and evaluate whether to proceed or pursue additional imaging to ensure safety. Leave ready to design safer approaches, apply sound judgment under pressure, and elevate outcomes for complex patients.

Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, learners should be able to:
  1. Differentiate simple fluid collections from complex fluid collections using point of care ultrasound (POCUS) and identify when these differences affect procedural decision making.
  2. Recognize abnormal findings on POCUS that require additional imaging prior to performing an ultrasound guided bedside procedure.
  3. Identify features on POCUS and other imaging modalities of comorbid conditions which increase procedural risk.
  4. Apply your POCUS knowledge to decide “To Stick or Not To Stick”.
