Join the 2026 SHINE Live Cohort

Clinical knowledge is only part of the job. Connect with experienced hospitalist coaches and fellow clinicians to explore the practical challenges of hospital medicine, from managing teams and rounding efficiently to navigating difficult interactions.

Whether you're starting independent practice, joining a new team or institution, or looking for fresh approaches to familiar challenges, SHINE offers interactive virtual sessions and optional coaching to help you learn from others and strengthen your day-to-day practice.

What to expect

Practical discussion. Talk through the situations and decisions hospitalists encounter in everyday practice.

Experienced perspective. Ask hospitalist coaches how they approach difficult, unfamiliar, or high-friction situations.

Peer connection. Compare experiences and ideas with colleagues at different points in their hospital medicine careers.

Optional coaching. Get additional support through drop-in coaching hours and opportunities for more individualized guidance.

How live session registration works

Registering here enrolls you in the SHINE Live Cohort. After your enrollment is processed, you'll receive a separate email inviting you to register for the upcoming live sessions you would like to attend. You may participate in individual or all sessions based on your interests and availability.

Discuss approaches to difficult consults, challenging patient encounters, and other questions submitted by members of the cohort.

SHINE coaches will also offer optional drop-in coaching opportunities throughout the program, with additional opportunities to connect individually when more personalized guidance would be helpful.

Who should participate?

SHINE is for hospitalists who want to feel more confident and effective in the everyday work of hospital medicine. Whether you’re beginning independent practice, settling into a new hospital or role, or looking for new approaches to familiar challenges, you’ll have space to learn from experienced coaches and fellow hospitalists. The 2026 Live Cohort is limited to 50 participants to support meaningful discussion, coaching, and peer connection.

DEA Requirement - OUD and SUD Education

The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) recently announced updated rules for all registered clinicians. Starting June 27, 2023, clinicians applying or renewing their DEA registration will need to make a one-time attestation that they have attended at least eight hours of approved training. This will be due at the time of renewal, which will vary by clinician. As an accredited CME provider, the Society of Hospital Medicine has compiled a list of sessions that meet this requirement.
