Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, learners should be able to:
  • List the indications for performing a lung ultrasound examination
  • Describe the optimal machine settings, probe selection, and probe orientation and placement for obtaining core lung ultrasound views of normal and abnormal lung ultrasound
  • Identify the structures viewed in evaluation for normal and abnormal lung
  • Recognize normal anatomy and common pathology (pulmonary edema, pneumonia, pleural effusion, pneumothorax)
  • List the limitations and pitfalls of lung ultrasound
