Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, learners should be able to:
  1. Recognize and treat acute adrenal crisis and learn the risk factors for developing an acute decompensated crisis.
  2. Distinguish severe myxedema coma from hypothryoidism and understand aspects of emergency treatment.
  3. Understand how to diagnose and treat thyroid storm and how to differentiate it from severe hyperthyroidism.
  4. Recognize and treat severe symptomatic hypercalcemia.
  5. Understand recognition and treatment of postoperative hypocalcemia and chronic hypocalcemia.
