The program also encourages residents to engage in research, QI projects, presentations, and publications to support scholarly growth. Each resident is matched one-on-one with a mentor whose career path aligns with their interests, helping them create a personalized career roadmap and receive continuous feedback.<br /><br />Overall, HIMIG is intended to prepare the next generation of hospitalists by offering early, structured exposure to hospital medicine, fostering mentorship, and building the skills needed for successful transitions into the specialty.
