This process began in December 2019. In March 2020, all event reviews moved to virtual format because of the COVID-19 pandemic.<br /><br />The intervention improved access to reviews and increased participation over time, though exact quarterly percentages are shown in the poster figure rather than the text. The authors conclude that direct collaboration between patient safety leadership and GME was essential, and that virtual participation likely made attendance easier. However, they note that 100% participation remains difficult because of demanding clinical schedules, the multi-site nature of the institution, and short notice for some reviews. Smaller programs also have fewer opportunities because attendance depends on where trainees rotate.<br /><br />Future plans include opening attendance to trainees not currently rotating on the involved service and studying the educational impact of live event review participation.
