Effectiveness is being assessed through hospitalist focus groups and listenership analytics. A survey was sent to 150 faculty in an urban academic health system to learn about podcast habits, learning preferences, and desired topics for a hospital-medicine podcast.<br /><br />The project was funded by a UCSF internal grant. The production process involves guideline and topic review, scripting interview questions, recording, editing, and publication. By March 2024, the podcast had released 20 episodes and accumulated over 1,250 listens across platforms, with Apple Podcasts being the most popular. The team plans to expand distribution to other academic and non-academic centers and potentially partner with academic journals to share guidelines and summaries in a rapid, easy-to-digest format.
